Brandy Salmon, PhD, MBA, is responsible for managing Duke's portfolio in the areas of cardiovascular, diabetes, and metabolism therapy. She brings to the Office of Licensing & Ventures a broad range of experience across multiple sectors of the health care industry. Most recently, Salmon held a position with Merck & Co. where she managed strategic marketing activities for the Atherosclerosis Franchise. Prior to working for Merck, she worked with a venture firm and gained operational experience as Director of Business Development for a start-up biotechnology company spun out of Washington University. Salmon holds an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business with a Health Sector Management concentration and a PhD from Cornell University in microbiology and immunology.
