Save The Date: Y Combinator is coming to Duke on February 25
Y Combinator is coming to Duke on February 25!
Y Combinator, a seed accelerator based out of Silicon Valley, CA, provides seed funding for startups. They have funded several successful startups, including Airbnb, DoorDash, Instacart, Stripe, Reddit and Dropbox. Since 2014, Y Combinator has funded 250+ biotech companies, which makes them one of the largest seed stage biotech funders in the world.
On February 25 from noon – 1 p.m., there will be a lunchtime fireside chat featuring Y Combinator partner Jared Friedman and visiting partner Uri Lopatin. Learn what it takes to launch and scale a life sciences company, and hear how and why biotech startup funding will change in the next 10 years. MEDx and Pratt’s Engineering Entrepreneurship (EngEn) will serve as hosts for the event. Register
Y Combinator will also hold one-on-one office hours on February 25 from 4 – 5 p.m. for early stage bio, healthcare and life sciences companies. If you’re looking for advice on turning your research into a company, or if you have questions about fundraising or Y Combinator, be sure to attend! Sign Up
In addition, Y Combinator will host a happy hour in the early evening from 6:00 – 8:00PM.
