Cancer cell lines lacking OPA1 or DNM1L

Background

Mitochondria frequently undergo processes of fission and fusion in response to various stimuli. To model cells with highly fragmented or fused mitochondria, we generated high grade serous ovarian cancer cell lines which lack the genes OPA1 or DNM1L, which are essential for fusion and fission, respectively, are stably deleted using CRISPR/Cas9-mediated genome editing. These cell lines could be extensively used to study the cellular and therapeutic consequences of disrupting mitochondrial dynamics.
